St. Michael Catholic School has now partnered with Kidventure/ Finale Afterschool Camps for our Extended Day Program!
In 1994 Kidventure came to life, opening its first summer camp with a mission of creating an environment in which kids can succeed, learn, and grow to live a happy, healthy and responsible lifestyle. Through the years this mission has pushed the camps to look beyond summer and into other areas where they can help kids grow.
Over the past 7 years Kidventure Finale Afterschool Program has provided the finest in afterschool camps. Their experience and year round focus on program development allows them to provide a highly acclaimed program which benefits families and host facilities alike.
Afterschool care is $200 per month/ per child. The Afterschool Program is held each day from 3:00 - 6:00 pm (excluding some half days and holidays).
How do I register?
A registration from can be found in the Forms section of this page or picked up from the front office of the school. You may also obtain a registration form from the Finale Afterschool Staff. Registration forms must be turned in to the St Michael Catholic School office.
Please note the schedule on the 2010-20I1 school calendar. Kidventure will not be holding after school on certain half days and holidays. Updates on these dates will be posted on the school website, or you may contact the Kidventure Camp Office for additional information.
St. Michael Catholic School will be in charge of payments and all payments will be turned into St. Michael Catholic School on specified due dates. Please contact St. Michael Catholic School for further payment information.
Where will the Afterschool Program be held?
Once school is over, all of the children registered for the Finale Afterschool Program will be brought into the Afterschool rooms. After a light snack, the children will participate in a variety of activities including homework, art, science, athletics and games. We will utilize areas like the field, classrooms and the old gym.
What will students do during Finale?
Kidventure's Finale Afterschool Program involves a variety of activities in an enriching, educational, and active program. Each month during the school year, we will have a specific theme. This theme will allow us to provide a variety of interesting and engaging activities. These activities will include:
• Art/Science
• Athletics/Games
• Homework
• Snack
What are the qualifications of the Finale Afterschool staff?
The most important part of your child's afterschool experience is their staff. Kidventure prides itself on selecting experienced, active and caring individuals for its program. All counselors are First Aid and CPR trained; all wear our uniform and have a minimum of two years of college coursework. In addition to our counselors, we also have an After School Coordinator. This person is Rachel Plympton. She is a graduate from Texas State University with a degree in Sociology and is currently attending the University of Houston-Main Campus where she is completing her Masters in Social Work. She has been responsible for creating the program's curriculum, ensuring that staff and kids have all supplies and is ultimately responsible for the successful operation of the Finale Afterschool Program since 2007. How do I contact the Finale Afterschool Staff?
You can call St. Michael Catholic School at 7l3-621-6847 and speak with the receptionist who will relay any messages to the staff. If you are unable to reach anyone at the school you may call the Kidventure office at 713-960-8989 and we will assist you.
Discipline and Conduct
We understand that children are tired after a long day of school but at the same time courtesy and respect practiced throughout the day should remain consistent in the Finale Afterschool Program. Kidventure's disciplinary goal is consistent with that of St. Michael Catholic School. In the event that a child misbehaves, a Finale Afterschool Program employee will implement the same disciplinary actions in progressive order as stated in the St Michael Catholic School Handbook.
Picking Up Your Child
The Finale Afterschool Program operates until 6pm each day we are in session. Only those individuals designated to pick up will be allowed to take students. These individuals must be noted on the Afterschool Registration Form.
Late Pick Up
Any child in attendance after camp ends at 6pm will be charged a fee of $l/minute. This payment will go directly to the staff who stayed late with the child.
